I sink my teeth into her beautiful skin five more times until she has my love bites on her ass, hip, waist, and throat. She complained about that one saying it would be hard to cover, but I didn’t do that deep like I did the others, so she will be fine. And if not, well at least people know she belongs to someone.

Now we are back to lying side by side, breathing hard, and I’m left with a raging boner tenting my pajama pants. Payson keeps rubbing her thighs together, and I imagine she’s as needy as I am. I almost thought she was going to come when I bit her hip, but she didn’t.

“Can you finish the story so we can have sex?”

A weak laugh bubbles out of my mouth. “Story?”

“About you and Parker’s mom.”

“Okay, but as soon as I’ve answered all your questions, I’m going to be balls deep in that tight cunt.”

“Deal. What is her name?”

Her name used to send a ping throughout my chest. Not because she was my first love or anything like that, but because we shared so much, a son. Now it does nothing. I will always think fondly of Marzia; as the mother of my first child, she gave me the most precious gift.

“Marzia.”

“Pretty name,” she grumbles.

I love my jealous little girl. I really should have this conversation when we are not lying in bed. Any serious conversations we have should be said where we can’t fuck, which I haven’t found many places I can’t take her on, but the bed is the worst. It’s meant for fucking her tight cunt.

“Like I said, I was sixteen and my family took us on a vacation. Dad, my brother, brother-in-law, and I were playing volleyball on the beach court when a kid a few years younger than me wondered over and asked if he could play.” I smile at the memory and look at Payson wondering if she caught on, but she is staring intently at my chest, so I keep going. “Said his name was Luca and he liked volleyball.”

She jolts. “Luca? Like, Luca downstairs?”

I nod and chuckle. “Mhm. A string bean at the time but damn good at volleyball. I was glad he chose to be on my side.”

“That’s when you became friends?”

“No, just when we met. I saw him one more time before leaving the island, but we weren’t friends until he showed up in America claiming to be the best Libero around.”

Her body shakes with a soft laugh. “He’s not wrong.”

No, he’s not. “But we played volleyball and then his family showed up and he joined them, and my family left for dinner. A few mornings later, I was out for a jog just after sunrise—”

“Ugh.” Payson slaps her hand to her face. “Is this going to be some romantic meet cute how you ran into a girl while jogging and it was love at first sight or something?”

I have to bite back my laugh because she’s not far off and I know laughing wouldn’t make her happy or this story easier to hear. “Young Ash was not the confident sexy man you are lying next to today.” Her scowl is murderous. “He was awkward, so don’t romanticize it.”

“So what’s different now?”

I narrow my eyes. “If you want to hear the rest, you will shut up.”

She rolls her eyes and makes a motion like she’s zipping her lips. “Thank you. Anyway, yes, we bumped into each other while jogging and she explained how she saw me playing volleyball with her brother and she thought I was good.”

“Wait. Her brother?” She shoots up in bed. “Parker’s mom is Luca’s sister?”

I thought I mentioned that. If not, she must have heard Parker call Luca uncle. “You were not aware of this?”

“No.” Frustration tugs on her face, pulling it into a frown. “Well, isn’t that fantastic. Your baby mama is your best friend’s little sister. How fucking cliché.”

“You shouldn’t be jealous, Payson. There was nothing between us back then and there definitely isn’t today . . . since she died thirteen years ago.”

Her mouth falls open and her face shifts with guilt. “I’m sorry. I didn’t know.”

“I wouldn’t expect you to. Besides, I told you we weren’t close. I wasn’t aware of her death until a year after she died.”

“I don’t understand.”
